i just got my 91' lt250r all put back together from an almost complete rebuild (everything exept the crankcase).
I was just our riding it and it started vibrating a lot more than normal. More vibration as you rev it up. It runs fine but vibrates.

any help on what is wrong and how it can be fixed would be great.

thanks

Sounds like you put the counterbalencer together wrong.

Did you pull the motor out of the frame? If so, check to see if a mounting bolt fell out or sumthin'......That's all I can think of.....Latah.....

I had the motor out of the frame when I rebuilt it. I just checked all of my motor mount bolts and they are still there. It must be something in the motor then. any other ideas.

i would say counterbalancer, but you said taht you did not have it removed; your probabbly going to hate to hear this, but it could also be a piston skirt starting to shatter, this happened to a scrambler 400 that came in that i had to rebuild, the guy bought it new and rode it for acouple years, suddenly it starting vibrating like crazy and he brought it in and i checked it over and couldnt' find anything, then i did a compression test still nothing as the rings were fine, i finally pulled the head and jug off and part of the skirt had shattered causing the piston to become unbalanced.

When I was driving it with the vibration if I stayed at a constant speed the vibration would pulsate(get worse then get better).
Does that meen anything?
Is there anything on the counter balancer that could come loose or break?

thanks,

mine vibrates like hell too. i have a 86 lt 250r. i was wondering, since its bored over quite abit, would that cause it to be unbalanced, like i mean do i need a little larger counter balancer???? its only when its about wound out too. otherwise it rides like a dream, kick *** power just vibrates and high rpms. any idea?
