I always heard there was a difference between the old Racer frames and the later models. Besides the swingarm/rear shock assembly, what's the difference in the frames? What years did they change?

Early 250`s cracked by the front shock bad. I`ve heard they had most of the frame problems fixed by 91-2? My freind had a new 86 back in 86. He rode it hard no doubt, but his frame started cracking when it was a little over a year old. I have a 92 now and there are no signs of cracks and its over 10 years old. They must have done something. I dont know what exactly.

They changed the front shocks. After 87 or 88 They were adjustable 5-way preload and 4-way rebound damping adjustment??? I'm not sure...
