just bought a zilla
#11
fasternu, I got new crank bearings, a-arm bushings, swingarm bearings, rear axle bearings, front wheel bearings, and all that for, if I remember right, around $180.00. I can break it down for you if I must, but basically if you buy Suzuki parts or buy from Suzuki you get raped. I think they wanted $35.00 for 1 crank bearing. I did have to buy an a-arm bolt from Suzuki for 25 big ones. I have learned to get all my bearings wholesale whenever I can. Why not they are all made by the same people. Another little trick I utilize in the art of not getting screwed is to cross reference whatever part I need with Honda. They are always cheaper than the other manufacturers. Take for instance the headlight bulb that goes in my Prairie. Kawi sells it for $9.00 when Honda sells the same numbered bulb for $5.00. It even works for the so-called American made Polaris. I needed a brushplate for my 95 Scrambler and was told that it was $43.00 and they had only one in stock. When I got down to the dealership, they told me that they were wrong and didn't have one but would see if anything else they had looked close. They had the exact same brushplate from Honda for $16.00. Boy was I lucky.
