Best pipe for LT250R
#2
I think Paul turner is the best. It is so much better than the stock pipe and FMF pipes. I have one for sale since my 1990 LT is being sold. It is black and has no dents $100 I will pay the shipping-ProtegeDK@aol.com

I would definately go with Paul Turner I have done a lot of research for a pipe for my LT500 and the name Paul Turner always comes up as the best and they have good quality too. So if I were you I would go with PTR, I know I am.

OK, I've got it narrowed down to 3 pipes but can't choose which one I want. One is the PTR Midrange pipe. The 2nd is the LRD adjustable and the 3rd is the CT Racing Midrange. Anyone know anything about the last 2 pipes? I'm trying to make the best possible decision I can.
Thanks

I have not used the LRD pipe or the CT pipe but I have heard with the LRD that you can never get it to seal properly. The CT pipe has more top end than the Paul Turner. Graydon Proline is coming out with a LT pipe their banshee pipes look sweet Give C&D Racing (308) 368-7805 a call they were the ones that told me about the Graydon Pipe maybe they have more info on it now. One other pipe would be the hand rolled FTZ pipe they are spendy but I have heard good things about them.

hey GuyRaptor - are you the same 'Guy' that posts on exriders.com? if so, just want to say that i enjoy your posts. you seem very knowledgeable and always do a good job politely informing a lot of the 'honda is the only real quad' posters. i personally have a 400ex and an 86 lt230s. the 400 is obviously my main ride, but i'm slowing rebuilding the 230 into a viable play machine. while i love my 400, i'm not biased like many others are. i really like the raptors, though, and would love to have one. can't get the wife to buy into letting me have another one though.
anyway, if you're not the same person, sorry to bother you.

Razorback, I am the same 'Guy' from EXRiders. I'm actually just about to get another LT250R (making it the 4th one!) and just had some pipe questions. I had an '86 LT230S and an '87 LT230E as well. It was a bulletproof bike for me and took many years of abuse and the guy I sold it to still has it on the original bore. Anyway, thanks for the kind words. What's your name at EXR?

i use the same name on exriders. i don't post a lot, but love to read the board, and have been doing so for about a year now. in fact, i just posted a question about an answer chest protector that Fourstrokefan replied to, and apparently you ride with him. with the exception of a few idiots trying to cause trouble, exriders is usually very informational.
actually, i'm extremely pleased with this board too. not a lot of activity, but every question i've had has been answered pretty quickly, by seemingly very nice and knowledgeable people. i'm basically going all the way through my lt230 and replacing and fixing all sorts of things, and i wouldn't be able to do it without the help of people who have already done the same things. i've got a service manual coming in soon, so hopefully that will help, but you can't replace people who have actually done the hands on work.
i envy you getting an lt250r. i just saw one for the first time last weekend. the guy had bought it very cheap from a friend and it was in perfect shape. looked like it just came off the showroom floor. man it was a nice machine.
anyway, ride hard, and see you on exriders.

I just went over to EXRiders and saw the name, I feel dumb now
I'm looking at picking up an '87 LT250R from my uncle. It's still 100% original and looks like it just came off the showroom floor. The 15 year old 2-stroke is still on it's original bore.
I'll talk to you later!
