Honda 250R ------ Suzuki lt250R?
#11
I have an 86 LT250 and have found many mods for 87 and up Suzukis. Billet clutches, Extended A-Arms, Billet heads, etc. If you look, you can find a lot. Unfortunately, since the Suzuki is less popular, it is harder to find used after market parts cheap. You pretty much have to buy new.

Yeah, I know OF Mark... Heard some negative comments recently... But, eh... I dunno.. Those people who speak badly of him are not too "reputable".
I'm by Oakbank. Know where that is?
Mods? I think they're in my sig...

nope. but you can buy a cylinder with one from ESR or etc.... of the 250 quads, it was the only one NOT powervalved. The LT, KFX had powervalves....but not on the honda. had they still made it i think id would have gotten it....but later on in the CR250R it got one - of course. (i think honda called it something else if i remember right)
if i am not mistaken, yamaha never put a powervalve on the tri-z either. nor the banshee even though the RZ350 street bike engine (frome wence it was derived from) had them.

they mod well and can be made to go VERY fast b/c they are light (good power to weight ratio), they are the best handling, balanced quad ever built, IMO. its frame geometry is the most copied in the world. Thats usually why people get them - not for speed but for the handling. plus its engine is bullet proof. mine is 20yrs old and only been rebuilt once by the second owner 4yrs ago. it still has plenty to go before it needs another rebuild. it only has a few bolt ons but it will pass a stock raptor. ( i guess you could consider mine 'modded" but it has very few mods compared to what allot of others do).'
the only stock quad on the market that handles closest to it is the YFZ. the 450R does not handle as well as the 250R. it handles good and has it perks, - it has a good engine too and front shocks but it just doesnt have the balance and feel of the "older" R. im sure others have different opinions...

I don't race so handling isn't my deal. I like acceleration. I don' t really like 2 strokes for tight woods riding but they are stil really cool! Thanks for the reply. I always wondered why people wated honda 250r's so much!
