I am very close to buying a new quad and can,t decide between the two. The KQ is $200 more. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter.
Regards,
Jim

Better? I suppose they're pretty close. I'd pay the extra $ 200 myself to get the standard locking front differential linkage of the King Quad, I think.

I also had it down to KQ and the AC. I went with the AC. In my option the AC has a better suspension and a better ride. I like the placement of the shifters on the KQ better. The AC has a larger fuel tank. It also has floorboards and disk brakes. I think the AC handles better at higher speeds. I just felt more comfortable on the AC. I think they are both good quads. I would spend a day on each of them and then make my decision. Don't let the 200 hundred dollars be a factor.

Go with the King!

The King will give you 2wd/4wd/4wd with locked front end.

The AC only has 2wd/4wd unless you modify it.

You can modify the AC to have a locked front end giving you 4wd/4wd with lock, but you lose the 2wd option. This is a simple modification. With something more extensive you may be able to keep the 2wd option as well. I have not looked into that.

Hope this helps. And yes I might be biased.

I'm struggling with a similar issue except that I've been trying to decide between the AC 500 and the Suzuki 500 quadrunner. I can purchase them for a similar price (6,000) but the Suzuki guy is willing to deal on a trailer. I think you should consider what you're using it for. If more toward utility, the Cat would be a better choice (I Think); but the KQ if you're more of a sport rider.

I don't know which one will be sportier but I KNOW that the Arctic Cat 300 will be more comfy than a K-quad.

TB, if you want more performace get the Suzuki, but you will pay for it in comfort.

The King Quad that I have had experiance with tends to overheat and after a year the guy had to have the rear-end replaced along with the front steering shaft. The bike has no ground clearance either. I have heard several people talk about the rear-end problems on these bikes.

Hudgin, Are you sure that its not a QuadRunner 500 your thinking about? The reason I ask is the KQ has an integral transmission drive where the rear axle's are driven directly from the engine housing. I have heard of the problems you mention on The QR500's but not the King Quad.
