Does anyone have a cool head on their 250 quadracer? I am looking at getting one and am unsure of what cc dome to get. I was told that 22cc is the stock size and 21cc is the smallest I can use with pump gas. Is this true? I am looking to bump up compression a bit for more low end but want to still be able to run pump gas.

It depends on what elevation you are at. For 3000 feet you can get by with running a 19cc dome on 50/50 race gas. A 20cc with a good fuel 91 octane or higher. 17cc gives a huge increase in bottom end but you have to run straight race gas, but it is good for racing. The 19cc dome increased bottom end quit a bit over stock.

what about at sea level?
can the 20 cc dome run on 92 octane (super unleaded pump gas)?
also, would a lead additive help?

 

With you being at sea level you will have to run higher octane fuel. You will be looking at around 175 or higher with 20cc domes.

Does anybody know what cc the STOCK head is????

 

I use to run a PD collhead on my 250. It looked good andhad bigger water jackets. I ran the 22cc and was told that was the only pump gas dome. If you wanted to save some money you could mill your head.
