Not with stock gearing!!

More like 72-75mph is the end of the world with stock gearing... I suppose it would pull gearing that tall, but I wouldn't want to trust the tires at those speeds...
(They grow really tall, and narrow at 70!)

the pre-production machine was clocked at 110 mph. With a few tweeks and minor mods, they tamed it down to run mid-to-high 70's before "Joe Public" was able to purchase it.

yes, probably around 80MPH stock gearing and tire size.
It sure gets there fast, though.
I dont doubt that it would pull MUCH higher gearing

Thats a little hard to beleave. stock for stock the banshee was always the winner top end...the 500 would get the banshee down low though.

So your telling me the 500 had a higher stock top speed than a banshee?

yes, to me the banshee does feel more impressive top end, but put them next to eachother and the lt500r just walks away from the banshee.

I have never seen a stock banshee beat a stock 500 unless the guy rideing the 500 cant ride. Banshees are fast dont get me wrong but, stock on stock the 500 is faster. I have a freind that just bought a 409cc banshee. Once he gets it dialed in I`ll let you know the outcome.

Jason,

That 500 of yours is one fast machine. I couldn't believe how that thing hooked up and lifted the front in the snow this past weekend. Then on the gravel, you were atleast 30 yards ahead of me and roosting me like no ones business. Brought back old memories of my old Zilla, LOL. By the way, how come you took off early? We logged a total of 70 miles on the ride by the time we were done.

LEP7MM,
My wife is pregnant, so I usually just go out a couple hours and go home. Also the 500 was running lean. I did not bring anything to jet it with me. I started thinking maybee I had a leak. When I got home sunday I checked and it was holding air fine. I just have to put some larger jets in. Do you have any idea how many miles that loop I took with you was? I burned 2 1/4 gallons of gas! She sure is thirsty.
