I'm having the cylinder bored as soon as I find a piston for it. Is there a higher compression piston that would recommend. I would like to get some more umph out of it, I'm not opposed to using a racing gas but I would like to keep it pretty reliable still. Thanks for any recommendations, Aaron.

you could shave the head, if you did it would be cheaper than a whole new piston, but if you are getting a new piston anyway then maybe you should get the piston. BUT with a head you can take the shaved one off and put another unshaved head on to run with pumpgas...

hey Aaron, i would think about using a Wisesco pro lite or ultra-lite piston. They are very light weight giving you a little more throttle responce. getting a Cool head for it boost the compression, and it also has replacable dooms to play with the compression a little. A good porting and polishing job helps a lot too. ok i shut up now. Hoped that helped.

Two stroke engines are a delicate work of art to run right. You can't just go slapping a larger dome on the piston to increase compression like you do on a four stroke. The angle of the dome is matched to the angle in the head. Raising the dome screws with the angle.
Also, you can't increase pin height like you can on a four stroke because you mess up the port timing. Your only options are decking the cylinder or shaving the head. Send it to a respectable engine builder and they can alter the angle and size in order to get the most power.

Ok, seems that the cylinder has been resleeved and a poor job at that. The sleeve sits about .002 below the top of the deck. The guy that was going to bore it said that in its self isnt to big a deal but he thought that it looks like its been decked before. He doesnt know the hieght of the cylinder stock and I cant seem to locate it either. He has a bunch of people that are looking but nothing so far. Any ideas on what I can do?

Madweazl, you might try pricing a new cylinder. Suzuki is usually pretty resonable on these. I bought a 91 RM125 cylinder for around $300. Bought it from a company I found in the back of dirtwheels. It will cost almost that to have it resleeved and bored. My polaris has been resleeved and I will never have that done again.

I am in the process of putting the TT banshee back together after powdercoating, and the engine is getting new rods and other mods at FTZ as we speak. I will definetly get some pictures of it up here as soon as it is together. The play banshee looks like your typical run-of-the-mill bike with pro circuit graphics, pipes, polished wheels, bars, bumpers, and other alum pieces. When I can figure out how to get the pictures in my sig I will. The 250x also looks stock, makes it even funnier when I outrun 400ex's. It does need an extended swingarm though, something about a big bore stroker on alky in a short frame makes it want to wheelie in every gear . But I will try to get some of them also. The LT, Polaris, and ATCR are all stock appearing also, although none (including the polaris with porting shaved head, pipe, rad valve, clutch kit, and other mods) have stock engines. They are also ragged. Wrecking my $750 '87Lt doesn't inflict the emotional pain that comes from wrecking my $7500 banshee. As soon as I figure out what needs to be done to tame the 490 in the blaster, I will have its frame powdercoated and I will get some pics of it. I am glad to see someone has an interest in them. I would hate to think my paycheck goes to something that no one cares about.
Ohio250, I will have to take a look at mine to rememeber how everything is run. If you need a harness, I might have one of those too, I have three parts bikes. They are complete minus engines. I will get back with you as soon as possible.
