Judging by your typing and the way you "act" I'd say go for the LT50 or if you really need speed, the Lt80!

I paid 5,100 out the door for a 400ex that handles better and is more reliable than a Raptor. Nobody knows about the z400 yet.

I wouldn't trade my Raptor for 2 400exs though. The 400 can't duplicate the feeling I get and I am not willing to go the 2-stroke route to get it.

Buy a Blaster, it's faster than the 400EX this year with the new cam, sprocket, and high compression piston. That thing's gonna rip on the EX and Z. The raptor would probably still beat it though because they don't wanna take any sales away...

I was riding my friend's Z400 last night and it seemed really fast until I rode my other friend's new (not yet available in America) Blaster... That thing's INSANE!

Or you could just buy the current blaster and dremmel down the cam lobes to make it like a new one. Then just sand down the top of the piston and get the new sprocket, but don't put all the bolts in, take them all out except one. It's like lightening the flywheel.

Good luck, and remember keep the rubber side down!

Very little reliable info. available for the Z400 yet....so I left it out

Raptor

Raptor

close call...most say 400ex

the Raptor and 400ex suspension feels almost identical

they both jump fine.....the 400ex has more of the quads weight towards the rear, so the rider has too shift his weight more towards the rear for level jumping (Raptor weight distribution is 46f/54r)

the 400ex is more reliable than the 01 Raptor, but the 02 Raptor is probably just as reliable.

Raptor

Neither

Oh, I was just talking to my friend with the new Blaster and he says that the reeds look different, too. You would also want to get new Muffler bearings because his have ALREADY worn out! Those Yamahas will kill you with repair bills, eh?
