binfordw he didnt say the 400z was junk he said he raced it and won.And if somebody came on the yamaha fourm and said a z400 beat the Raptor I wouldnt call him f*cking stupid man we need to grow up alittle on these fourms Iam sure theres kids who get information off of these man listen to me I sound like a old man well maybe.But I still have a sport quad and still like to drag race.Hey I will still beat you get my point its all a game.

 

Well here we go again. Yes, we all know the raptor is faster. Woohoo. Obviously this is one of those things, like ya know, when guys need real big trucks, or real fast cars, to well, you know, make up for something. That's why I drive a little pu$$ a$$ four banger, two wheel drive pickup and own a Z. But seriously guys. I ain't out there bashin yama's, kawi's, big red, or any of that. I'm in this for the ride. It's obvious there are still many people who ride for the wrong reasons; my advice...let'em. Period. They are obviously very upset because they paid way too freakin much for their bikes, when we can take the money we saved, buy a pipe, do a little air box mod and jet adjustment and blast any raptor that comes your way and still have money left over. This is why they are mad my friends. Let them be. We know we have rad (yeah, that's right, I said RAD) bikes. So it's a little tall in first, cry me a freakin river. I have two of these machines and love them. That whole first gear thing is easily fixed with any of the mods suggested and is still cheaper, and better handling.

What would you think if one of us dropped in on the Yamaha forum making comments about how gutless Warriors were, because we smoked one with our Z400? That's how you two sound.

 

wow he beat a stock Z400, was your raptor stock?. i bet you didnt win by much not till at least 4th gear did you pull away. only 3 or 4 less horsepower than a raptor and 260cc more displacement. all i need is a cam, pipe, and carb and ill be cruising right next too or even beating your piped and jetted raptor. and ill still have less money in mine.

why did you even post this, of couse a raptor is gonna beat a Z400 duhhhh. there both good quads, you either go for the motor with the raptor or go with the suspension quality's of the Z400.

I dont care who beats who thats just me I just like to ride.But there is always a butt a BIG ONE.just my question so dont jump down my throat well you can I really dont care. You said if you put a cam and a pipe and jetting your z400 it would run and hang with a Raptor.How would it run with a Raptor with a cam pipe and jetted like a majority are so far except 3sportsman i guess from his signature.Its easy to do i was going to leave mine stock then had to have a slip-on exhaust to make it loud.Just my question will the battle never end.

 

Well, I'm a "newbie" here on the forum and to ATV's in general..but I've ridden dirt bikes for over 20 years. And been playing with cars for a long time too. In both, I've experienced some good natured bashing of other brands...In fact, I'm a chevy man, so I wouldn't buy but a very select few fords, and I'm more than happy to give the rustang owners a ration of shiznit...BUT, in both these hobbies, it's a friendly back and forth, and we ALL respect a nice machine, no matter who makes it. I don't understand why there's such a "mine is better than yours" mentality on this forum. It reminds me of a bunch of 12 year olds on the playground, fighting about nothing. Everything in life is a compromise, and that includes ATV's. Each has it's good and it's bad...enjoy the experience of riding, and let everyone enjoy their bikes for whatever reason they bought them...It will be much more rewarding.

 

These forums are slowly becomming raptor owners vs everyone else. Why do raptor owners have to come in and start talking trash on every post? I know this is a generalization, but it seems to be true. Get a life guys.

I called him a Stupid f*ck because that is EXACTLY how he was acting. I wouldn't say something like that if this was the Yamaha board, that where this needs to be. If you all are too ignorant to see that his only point in this post was to make himself feel alittle better for having a quad no longer in the spotlight, then forget you.

Oh, and for the guy who said something about getting a cam-pipe-carb to run with a Raptor, be more like OUTrunning with a raptor.

 

You can have a built anything and its all going to depend on the rider anyway if your drag racing it depends on how you use the clutch when you start if your mxing it depends on your style.Personal I like going against deferent people maybe to learn something different.Well I hope to ride with some of you guys someday we all have nice quads now until Kawasaki comes out with theres and the bashing starts again. lol

 

May I suggest to all those Raptor owners who want to brag about how they can out run a smaller Z400, please try and do the same against the Cannondale, hell it's only 32 more CC than the Z400. See how well you do against one!! Just don't be too embarassed when you get spanked!!
