My Eiger's fan used to run alot before I took it in to have the knocking sound fixed (took 3 weeks). Now it hardly comes on, I feel alot of heat but no fan. It has run a few times, very few. The temp light hasnt come on. Should I be concerned? What does your do? Thanks, Jerry

 

I went out and broke mine in this week end. Ran great, not a spit, sputter, started up right away every time. I think I see what you mean by the knocking sound. When I put it under a load I get a slight knocking sound, but as soon as I back out a little it quits. Could just be a trait of the motor. Didn't concern me too much. That is what the waranty is for. I did not cut it any slack. I ran 120 miles in 2 days on brisk trails. Mostly sand and some clay. Got it up to 52, maybe 53 on the hard roads. It was very stable wide open and the suspension worked great. In 85 to 90 deg weather the fan would cycle on and off when was putting around at 15-20 mph. At faster speeds it would not come on at all. Even at 40+ I didn't notice it coming on. And you can usually tell when it comes on. DAMN that thing moves some air! Anyway ready for the first oil chage after one week and no problems, just smiles...
