I have a 89 LT500 with Paul Turner pipe and silencer, Pyramid reeds, 39 PWk carb. Blew my head gasket Sunday. I have a temp. gauge and was at 180* when it blew. Thinking about a few things Trinity will groove the head and barrell and place a o-ring or I can go with the Pro-Design cool head with the interchangeable domes more HP etc.
I know that the bike has a problem with the head gasket so has anyone tried any of these options or what have you tried?

Your 89 LT500 is not known for common head gasket problems. The 87 model was the only one with the problem. The 87 has 6 studs and the 88-90's have 7 studs. If you torque the head correctly you should never have a problem again. A kool head would be a good idea for possibly more power, or mill the stock head a little. Remember to change your jetting for compression changes!

Someone just submitted a review of the 'Zilla to my site, and he mentioned the increase in studs too.
