bbertram, the axle is one long piece and is a suspected weak spot on the Z so that's the first place I'd suspect. If you did the wheel swap and the wobble stayed on that side than it's very likely the axle that's bent. I'd seriously doubt that it's a hub though. This is just an excuse to go out and buy an RPM Dominator or an LSR Axcalibur!

I was really hoping it wasn't the axle but it probably is. I'll have to call my dealer and ask them to have one in stock and ready to install when I get down south the first week of July. All I got to say is they better damn well be able to get me an axle.

Well, you're not alone in the bent axle dept. I was one of the guys praising how tough it was. I spoke too soon, but the rest of the Z400 is just fine. My mx track consists of many 35-60 ft. doubles and tables. The landings are not bad so I'm surprised this happened. Lonestar is saying 2 weeks for their axles to be ready. Bummer!!

Why replace a stock part that failed with another stock part that will probably fail again. Wait the 2 weeks and buy a Lonestar or RPM and do it right the first time.

I agree with yodaddy...unless they cover you under warranty go aftermarket. starting to look like the the z has more in common with the raptor then just the plastic. if your jumping and getting on it in the whoops...it's to be expected.

bummer though. i hope Suzuki helps you out. keep us updated.

Well I talked to my dealership today and its covered under warranty. They told me to make sure what is broken. So I will switch the hubs this weekend and see if the wobble transfers. If it doesn't then its the axle. Its all good. I'm happy. There's a poker derby this weekend too !! I can't wait.

Uh oh, more ammo for the competition to use against the Z. Oh well, we all know about Raptor failures and 400ex swingarms. Remember the quads are produced for the average rider and 50-65 ft jumps aren't average. An axle is alot cheaper then some other problems on other quads. Anybody racing gets and axle and A arms anyway.

The axle is just sad if that is indeed what is bent. My dealer told me the hubs are ment to go first before the axle. While other people on here tell me the hubs are wicked strong and wont bend. Is my dealer feeding me a line of BS?

Brent, call Dan at Lonestar Racing. He's having a small batch ready next week.{way better than 2 weeks} Your hubs will take a lot more abuse than your axle. It's definately your axle, I've bent a few before and this one is definately BENT. Lonestar built my CRF450 quad and they make very high quality parts.

I'm going to get it replaced under warranty. If it happens again which it just might then I might get an aftermarket one.
