my bud (who rides a 2002 400ex) insists that there will NEVER be
a TRUE race involving the z400 because it has reverse"its not a true race quad...only a sport quad...so therefore you will never see a z400 and 400ex quads together in a real race"is he correct?and by the way, he is the one that wants me to race him with his STOCK pipe on his 400ex.

 

Reverse don't mean crap...That is a good one. Tell him you will have a race quad after you beat him.

 

Yeah, whatever. Why don't you ask your friend what happens when he get into a spot in the middle of a race next to a Z that makes you back up? He'll be watching the Z RACE away while he's still pushing his bike backwards. Plus, one of the reasons Honda didn't put reverse on the EX was to save weight. Well crap, the Z has reverse, it has liquid cooling, and is lighter than the ex by a few pounds. AND the Z's chassis and a-arms are made with super strong steel, not aluminum. Which one sounds like a race quad to you? It's just technology catching up with the sport my friend. Your friend is just pissed that the Z's waste even modified ex's. I AM NOT SAYING THE EX IS BAD. I personally gotta give it to honda for how high the bar has been set for so long with that bike. It is truly legendary and WAS in a class all it's own. Well, now, it's time to move over honda, guys in yellow have stepped up and taken it a bit higher.

j/k i havnt had much expierence with either, riden the EX a few times and i loved my 300ex for the longest time but the z400 is alot better of a bike then the ex, from what ive heard from MANY people now...

Go kick his tail. I've raced modded EX's and not one of them was able to hang. I like the EX too, but you can beat him with your non-race machine. Does he think you should attach a plow to yours or something?

 

Tell him the reverse is for when you get so far ahead of his EX, you can back-up and give him a second chance, hehehe
