i have heard they are the same price as a 400ex. If this is true i would much rather get the z400, but has anyone out there had any problems with the z400. So far i have heard the z400 is faster than the 400ex and has as good of handling as the 400ex.
thanks

Needforspeed,

Yes, the Z is the same MSRP as the 400EX, $5699. So far I have not had a problem at all with mine. Someone on the forum said they bent their axle jumping, but so far noone else has had a similar problem. So, I don't anicipate it being a reliability issue. Also, A few people including myself have had a spring come lose from the brake light. Easy fix, take a pare of needlenose and bend the spring, and put it back on.

This quad is awesome, I have logged about 15 hours on mine. Mostly tight trails, a few small jumps, and some wide opentrails. The handling is great, tight trails are no problem compared to the 400EX, it is a tie. The suspension is plush, it hanles woops incredibly easy, jumps are comfotrable landings. Power is awesome throughout the powerband. I can get the front end up through 3rd gear. I just got a chance to get on it full throttle this weekend. Had to break it in ya know. This things just about pulls your arms off. Some people have said that it lacks power on the lowend. I however have to disagree.

The Z400 and the 400EX are both great quads, you would not be disappointed with either.

The Z is great in the mud, but like any quad as long as you keep on the gas. In other words, it has the power to go through it. Hill climbs are easy with this machine, just hit the gas and you can fly up them. I have not been out to the dunes with it yet, but am anxious to see how it performs in the sand.

I paid $4954 OTD for my Z400. I just sold my 01' 400EX and the Z is a much more powerful quad.

$4954!! Damn, I need to move!!! I won't be retiring in CA, and will probably move back to the east cost in a few years. (I'm way before retirement)
I wonder how much house you can get back there for what I'm going to sell here. I'm originally from upstate NY, but that's just too damn cold. What will $600,000 get you in like Allentown, PA?

My house? I bought a brand new house two years ago in a semi-private golf community. I am not on the course, but close. We have a community olympic size pool, soccer field, baseball field, two tennis courts, walking trails, community center, a bed & breakfast, a nice resturant and a brewery. Nice place. My house is pretty normal, 2,350 sq. ft. not including a, 1,300 sq. ft. basement, two car garage, 1/2 acre lot, fenced yard, fireplace, etc. Anyway, I picked it up for $194,000. We have the normal membership fees and rules about no junker cars, trash cans in by 6:00 PM, no metal or unpainted wood fences, no shed, no parking trailers or boats in the community, etc. You know all the snooty stuff to keep the prices high.

Those snoots love it when I fly past their place on my quad. hehehe.
