I may go in on a 88 RM125 for $300. It needs a new top end and wont turn over. My question is, what could be the problem with it not turning over? Is it still worth purchasing? Thanks!

A couple of years ago I purchased a mint looking '91 rm125 for $300. Its engine was stuck also. This was due to a rod bearing. After a rod kit, piston kit, head cleanup, re Nikisil, I had around $700 in it. I loved this bike. Plenty of power, rode great (I weighed about 250lbs). Needed money so it had to go. I sold it for $1300. Try to put the bike in gear and roll it backwards. Lots of times this will let the rod bearings fall back into position and the engine will turn over. The rod still needs to be replaced, but this will help to pin point the problem.
