What a crock-o-shi!
I now officially do not believe a damn word the mags say. Dirt wheels, 4wheel, atv action...what ever, they're all the same company...have their heads stuck so far up suzuki's **** it's embarrasing. apparently flying some slack jaw yokles out to ride a quad in completely controled conditions works. The oldest trick in the book.

embarrasing doesn't even begin to describe the "shoot-out". I'm also very pissed if you haven't noticed. let me get this straight.

The Cannondale. spanks the Z and the EX in the drags, Spanks them on the track, and sucks up the whoops and big jumps the best?

And they give it to the Z....because it looks better. ITS A YELLOW RAPTOR.

This is so rediculous...get this...they say the cannondale is better suited for experience riders and the Z's smoother power band, makes it the better quad.

Crap. I appreciate the Z but this article does not do it justice.

Here is an American Company making quads. Trail or Track ready. and they get robbed a clear win. maybe they should move their factory from Penn to Hawaii so the magazine hacks feel more apt to publish favorable articles.

Down right un-American.

33 readers and no reply. i'm taking that as a sign that even the z400 owners aren't even going to try and defend such a bogus article.

clearly respectful

Okay one honest response.

resist the urge to defend the Z. it doesn't need defending...the article is the issue. i may sell my warrior for a Z...it's a great quad.

Cannondale accomplished what they set out for. they deserve the win. They have made numerous break through's in this industry while breaking into this industry. they atleast deserve a fair un-bias review.

I can afford one but decided to purchase the Z. The Cannondale isn't worth that much to someone who just rides trails. I paid 5099.00 out the door for my Z in Arkansas and the cheapest Cannondale I've seen new is 6999.00. Check total sales at the end of the year on both models and you will see why they gave it to the Z. If i strictly raced mx i would have bought the Cannon but I don't race period. And I can buy an axle and a pipe and jetting for a heck of a lot less than the 1900.00 difference between my Z and the Cannon. And I haven't managed to bottom out my Z while jumping anything and I weigh over 230. And I could have purchased a 2002 Raptor at the same dealer for 5699.00 but the Z outhandles the Raptor on trails and with there only being 2 to 3 quad lengths difference between the 2 when they are stock I chose the better handling and lighter quad. If I lived near the dunes I would have chosen the Raptor or DS650 and if I raced mx I would have chosen the Cannon. Not everyone uses their quad for the same thing. Besides the 1900.00 I saved will be better spent on the racecar.

Zooky: help me out with this.

Why bother with a shootout if your going to award a winner by end of year sales numbers? You don't think the faster, better handling quad deserves to win because of the price tag. I don't know that cannondale has the ability to manufacture as many quads as suzuki to begin with? so where does that leave them.

The shootout was bogus. I think in all honesty that they should have compared the Cannon to a race type chassis like the Lagear and other rigs that are powered by 426's and 450F engines and not sportquads. But they evidently were looking at something we weren't.

Zooky - That last comment was a great one. I for one will take that as a big compliment .

You know what the sad part is... Even Raptor and Z400 owners agree that the shootout was a bunch of crap. Looks like DW screwed up big this time.

I think they actually took price into the counting factors, which is a big factor to most of us who ride.
