Just lost a close friend over the weekend. He was riding on Ocracoke island on
North Carolinas'outer banks. He hit a soft spot in the sand along the beach and flipped
his ATV over at estimated 30 mph and broke his neck when ATV landed on him. At least my
friend didn't suffer and died having a good time. Please everybody, wear a helmet!
It is terrible to lose a friend only in his 30's. We were going to go to Tennessee
to ride WMAs' 4th of July weekend. Don't feel like making the trip now. Life flight
EMT's said helmet might have kept his head from going into his chest. He has a wife and
2 children that are devastated. Just thought this post might remind some of us that
get complacent and let our gaurd down once in awhile. Enjoy our sport-be safe.

I agree. Do everything you can to be safe, life is already too short - don't make it even shorter.

Prayers for his family.

My deepest condolences to you and to the family. And thank you for thinking of us and our saftey as you suffer your loss. I to lost a good friend a couple a years ago, and if he would have been wearing his helmet, he would also be here today.

Thoughts and prayers.
