Here is the skinny, NO BS here. Last night I hooked up my GPS to my Z again to see what she has for a top speed. Well it went 108 kmh on a straight paved road. Later on I went down a slight hill and hit 110 but ran out of road but I think with a longer slight hill it could reach 115 at the most before the rev limiter would kick in. Also when you look at the dyno graphs all over the internet you will notice you loose alot of power after 7500 rpms. If the power would keep climbing then this quad would go alot faster. It powers out before it revs out. I weigh about 220 lbs so if you weigh less you could go faster but not a whole lot faster.

Others may say they went faster but I only believe a GPS or a radar gun, a speedmoter on a van, car, truck or on anything else can be inacurate and give a false reading. Anyone who reports a top speed should give their weight, type of road, up hill, down hill or no incline and how you came to your results, GPS or radar gun.

i ride with 2 bayou 220's (slow) and a kx 125 modded(faster). he claims he copuld go about 75 but i dont think he could reach that high. he has a tendency to streach the truth a little bit.

Well I hate to break it to ya man, but if his KX is running right his 75mph estimate is probably very close. I had a Stock CR 125 and it would top out at around 72mph.

I have not ridden or seen a Z400 go, but I would bet that it doesn't go over 72-74mph since that is what the Raptors, Banshee's, and DS650's are running and according to the results posted on this board they are not as fast top end as the three quads I listed.

Again, I have not ridden or seen a Z400 go so I may be wrong. All I can say is if it really does go over 72mph that is one heck of a little quad and I am really impressed. Hats off to Suzuki for doing it if that is the case.

According to this months DirtWheels mag, "on a lnger stretch of dirt road we masured top speed and got 71 mph for the Raptor versus 66 mph for the Z-400".

Anyone else read this article? Hands down the Z is the winner of their shoutout with the Raptor. "The Suzuki Z-400 Quadsport is the new measuring stick that other ATV manufactures will have to rise to" quote un-quote. No surprise here!!!

66 mph for the Z-400
