Z400 frames bend easy!
#11
I didn't buy it because it was crash proof I bought it because I tow large loads and need the back of it for storage when traveling to races and quad trips. And I'm probably fixing to trade it for a new Duramax Diesel Chevy. Anything smaller than a full size extended cab truck and that doesn't have 4 wheel drive isn't worth owning to me. Regardless of the brand my next 2 vehicles will both be Turbo Diesels. None of the stuff you mentioned is capable of towing a 28 foot enclosed car trailer fully loaded with supplies and the car.

yeah to make sure you live through a slow speed crash not to make sure the car is in perfect shape. The car companies pound their vehicles at 10 mph and it still cost up to and over $2,000 Thank god you don't get that bill. That is only at 10mph

If you hit something at 30 MPH, you are moving pretty quick and should expect something to give. You should feel lucky that you did not get hurt. By the way, you are not supposed to hit things anyway. If you lost control, then you were probably riding beyond your abilities. I am quite sure that there is a decal riveted on the machine stating that it is not to be operated on roads, and your owner's manual tells you not to operate the machine beyond it, or your capabilities. Please correct me if I am wrong.

i think im going to have to take baja mark's opinion on this one.
yes!, stock parts will always be less strong than aftermarket but thats no to say that theres a certain standard of strength.
I dont have a z, but ive had enough quads to know that when u pay 5k or more on a quad you expect to hold up more than a 3k quad.
i also think that because this is the first year production, u owners are more apprehensive when something happens and automatically think its attributed to bad quality or defective. And fine, if u want to go and say that it wasnt meant to be kept stock then ok...replace with better shocks. But i dont know n e one who buys aftermarket frames.
all im saying is that i think these frames are bending a little too easy and i might get flamed for this but what the hell:
when i was about 12 i used to go to this camp that had honda 90ex's and yamaha badger
s. Little 90 and although i and a couple of my friends knew what they were doing. those things got abused! They all were in a lake about 3 times each. all crashed and who knows when the oil was changes last. Their frames stayed strong. Now i know there are differences between a kid quad and a sophisticated Z. But still, i think u c what im trying to say.
I was considering buying one and everyone is saying there fine out the door. Well if they perform well, but are structually egg shells, thats not too good for a race bike.
alright just my two cents! Good luck with your kids frame.
PS. How old is your son and how did u crash?

The key here is your not supposed to hit stuff! This is what we call operator error! If you hit something with the fender on your car do you call chevy because the fender didn't hold up? Nope You ran into the other quad not suzuki so suck it up. I've been hosed by several big companies and I had no part so at least you had something to do with the damage.

LOL, should have got a raptor i've hit a warrior,a huge rock on left front tire(thought i broke my a-arms but nope) and it never bent anything. It's the riders fault if you hit something or someone. And like guido said stock parts aren't indestructable.

a ATV is an OFFROAD VEHICLE. if a quad cannot stand a little bumb or cant stand up to a little jumping than it is not worth it. granted that i dont know how high you guys jump or how hard you guys actually hit, but i know i am not the best rider and i have hit many things, rolled over and what not. i can see handlebars bending or levers braking, that is one thing, but when you guys have a-arms,axles and FRAMES being bent well thats a huge issue. god i know if i just payed $6000 for a brand new quad and have these problems i would throw a fit. my 2 cents.

you cant have this kind of a claim for a car because not many people expect their dodge caravan to hold up after a rhythm section.
there are not built on purpose to be crashed but its granted that they are going to take more abuse for what they are made for. YOu gotta atleast put things in proper perspective if your going to compare a quad to an auto.
I think most car dealerships will agree that there is only one accepted form of terrain that cars a built for and that is pavement. Unless there trucks there not even meant to go on dirt roads.
ON the stickers on most quads, they advise not to go on pavements, off road only. Off road terrain is much more vigorous and harsh and that leads most people to believe that the parts were adequately stengthend to compensate for the more stress.
Im not saying that its suzukis problem is you crash, im just saying that they should be made to incur less damages when crashed. But damages extensive or not, for good reason or not, legally you cant blame them.
