I finally had time to put my AC nerfs on the Z today. Everything went pretty well. Tight fit , but tight is better then loose. The only real hitch was I had to re-route the oil lines coming out of the oil box. I ran one line over the bars and one line under. They seemed to fit best this way. I would like to know if anybody had any better ideas to re-route these lines?

Thanks

Jason

Did you get the pro pegs or standards?

I got the standards, couldn't find the pro pegs anywhere! I got impatient and bought what was in stock. Any advice on the hose routing?

With out see them it would be hard to advise, but I would be concerned about the one below being pinched against something.

I was worried about the one below, but I couldn't get it above the nerfs with out putting to much stress on the rigid tube going to the oil box. One hose naturally goes low and one goes high. I know I can't be the only one to run into this. They shop said they were selling the nerfs like crazy!

I haven't had a chance to mount mine because they gave me the wrong mount and haven't got the right ones back from the powder coater yet. It has been 2 weeks and I am starting to get frusterated.

maybe you should ask AC on how they did it or atleast let them know of the problem so maybe they can modify the nerf bar. if you have a full belly skid plate i wouldn't worry about the line getting stuck on anything BUT, make sure that the line's not rubbing against anything or the results could be catastrophic. personally, i would modify the nerf bar first before i start "bending" oil lines.

Well I emailed AC today and here is a copy of the 2 emails they sent me

"That is the way that they were designed to fix appearently that was the only way the fab guys could get it to work. He said it is supposed to sit on the lower oil line."

"Thank you for your concern, from what I have been told going between the oil lines is the way it is suposed to go, and the only way we could get it to mount."

So I guess I got it right, It just doesn't look right. 3 piece nerfs are much easier to put on. But these AC look much nicer!

Thanks for everybodies input!

Default AC Nerf Installation

I just got my AC nerfs(standard) and I thought it was kind of weird that it actually pushes the bottom oil line down to mount. The question I have is which engine mount do they bolt up to? Looking at the left side of the bike(shifter) does it mount on the forward or rearward bolt? Mounting on the rear puts alot of pressure on the bottom oil line and mounting on the front the nerfs wont reach the pegs.

I ran into the same problem with my White Bros Pro Pegs, I originally ordered AC but had so many troubles and got tired of waiting I canclled it and went with AC. With the WB Pegs I re-routed both oil lines above the bars. Didnt want anything to come off the ground and pinch taht line or cut it. That would ruin a good day of riding in a hurry. Id go back and get them both on top. Bending them to that point scared me a little but everythings going great, theyve been on two months. Also Im glad I went with the WBs, same things but my friend with a raptor ordered AC Pegs, got them after waiting two months, and my pegs are bigger then his. Im all about the big pegs. Just a little FYI
