AC Nerf Installation
#11
It sounds like you encountered the same apparent problem I did. As mentioned earlier, the issue is which engine mount bolt location to use. The nerfs use the forward/upper mount -- then the cross-tubes pass perfectly between the oil lines. I installed the new engine mount bolts and spacers until they were not quite snug; then used a c-clamp to pull the foot-peg plates close to the foot-pegs; then drilled the necessary holes; etc.
AC could make thing a lot easier on buyers, if they would simply add a note telling the buyers which engine-mount bolt to replace.

if this forum let you post pix it would be nice. the nerfs bolt to the front lower motor mount bolt. there should be about 1/4 inch clearance between the oil lines. what i suggest is taking a peice of ruber hose and placing it around the oil lines to keep them from rubbing on the nerf tube. as you can see suzuki didnt give me much room to work with.

I think I figured it out. If I mount the front first and dont tighten it down, then mark and drill the holes in the pegs the nerf bars will bend/stretch when I bolt them to the pegs. Does this sound right? I'm about to start drilling.
