Z400 Pipes and Top Speed

I noticed it because of distance. I have a trail across the end of my farm that I use to not be able to get into 5th on. Now I am well into it. I would say I lost around 4 to 5 mph anyway. After freeing up my exhaust I am begining to think I should have split the difference on the rear sprocket instead of going to a 13 on the front. I have a hard time keeping the frontend down when riding agressively on tight trails but I'm still running the crappy Dunlops to. I think a set of Razers on the rear will fix the frontend problem. I bought my sprocket from Sidewinder and it was expensive as far as sprockets go but it is better metal than a standard replacement. So far it isn't showing any wear and the stock sprocket showed wear after 8 hours or so. It is easy to install but you don't use the factory bolts and retainer to hold it on. You use a c-clip like on a bike to retain it.

i have raced a 02 stock raptor and more than half the time i can take him at the start. NOTE!!!... we are not professionals! so no ignorant responses required. i just picked up my trinity, (30 day money back guarantee) stage iv pipe and header and jet kit. i hope to have it all on in the next two weeks. i need to heal up from a small flip over no-no. but i wont get to enjoy kicking the raptors a$$ for long. he is getting the same pipe and accessories too.

Hey,
What kind of jet kit did you get for your Z. I am thinking about getting a pipe and I want a Trinity. I am looking towards a K&N Jetkit but I was just curious about what you thought. Let me know
Thanks man,
Knowles

HEY BRO........DON'T WASTE ANY TIME ON BUYING A JET KIT...GO DOWN TO ANY YAMAHA OR KAWASAKI OR SUZUKI DEALER AND ASK FOR A MAIN JET SIZE 155..(IF YOU RIDE IN THE DESERT LIKE ME) OTHERWISE A 152.5. ANYWAYS.. ITS A .75 PART AND TAKES LESS THAN 15 MIN TO INSTALL IF YOU KNOW NOTHING BOUT A MOTOR. i HAVE THE YOSHI PIPE, ALBA INTAKE WITH K&N FILTER AND REMOVED SNORKEL AND LID OFF. iRUN HARD, IN FACT I PULLED MY BUDDIES RAPTOR WITH A PRO CIRCUIT EXHAUST K&N AND SPROKET CHANGE BY TWO LENGTHS IN A 1/2 MILE RUN TWO TIMES IN A ROW. iJUST PULLED MY PLUG AFTER A WEEK AND THE BABY BURNS JUST RIGHT..IF YOU NEED HELP INSTALLING LET ME KNOW AND I CAN GIVE YOU A WALK THROUGH. ANYWAYS..SAVE THE 56.00 BUCKS ON A JET KIT..USE IT FOR SOME TAPER BARS!!

Im still running my original stock plug, and like i said it burns just right...Were going out for a long ride tomorrow night and Ill really get on it and let you know if I have any changes in it, but I doubt it will change at all....I was just reading the new Dirt Wheels on the yosh big bore kit....Sounds cool but 2600 dollars!!! Man i dont know bout that..Ive been told by a few SUZUKI shop men I know to do exactly what I have done and change cams (both intake and exhaust run 159.00 each for HOT CAMS) and leave the sproket alone and Ill be at 46 hp...(roughly 1 hp over stock raptor)...Not bad for under 750.00..........Talk at ya later...

If you are lower sea level area you need to run a 165 main. We have found this to be true even with the Yosh kits and this is what Trinity recommends. Don't expect to get 46hp with a pipe and cams though you will see a drastic change. Around the upper 30's to 40 is more realistic. Check out the first dyno run of the kit on my link. This is from a 440, port & polish, 41 FCR, pipe, K&N, 12:1 JE piston, and thin base gasket with stock cams and ignition. After the holiday they will finish the cams and build the box. You want to watch out for what kind of cams you get because the dirtbikes use the power differently than quads do.
