What is the difference from changing the front and the rear sprocket. I know that for more speed you should increase the number of teeth on the front sprocket and lower the teeth on the rear sprocket. What is the difference in changing one another. If I change the front for more speed should I change the back? Should I just change one for more speed or both?

As a genaral rule of thumb, 1 tooth on the front equals 3 teeth on the rear. So for more top end(considering your bike has the power to pull it) you could increase the front by 1 tooth, or decrease the rear by 3. Most people fine tune since they dont want to make that big of a jump and they will increase the front by 1 while decreacing or increasing the back by 1 or 2 to allow thier quad to run right in the middle of its powerband for whatever situation they may be running thier quad in.

Just divide the # of teeth on the rear by the # of teeth on the front. That'll give you a ratio that you use to compare how changing the gearing will affect your atv.
