400ex's have plenty of power for the track? Yeah, maybe in the beginner class!

MxDale, you sure do hate those 400EX's, probably because when their ***** drop {turn into 440's} they out perform the Cannons on the track.

Rincon, FYi they have updated the site and there is no sport quad on there. One more thing if honda does come out with a liquid cooled 440/450EX with a good handling chassis, good shocks and legendary honda reliability, it still will be slower than a dale, no aluminum frame, no holeshot tires with aluminum rims, no radical EFI or quality Ohlin like shocks, so it still is not that good.
Just my opinion!

Trout, take a look in the Oct. ATV Action on page 15 [Inside Scoop] and take a look where the Cannons are. All Hondas in front of them and even 1 Raptor. This is how they finish in our neck of the woods also. I like the Cannons, but it's hard to not love the Hondas. Especially a CRF450 quad that a Cannon can't touch.

RODSQUADS, take a look at Dirt Wheels september page 87:

Chad Duvall's 500EX

"Not quite a factory machine, this Pro Production racer is as far away from a stock 400EX as you can get without breaking the rules."

rodsquads,
good point, however I believe that in the upper tiers of racing it is all rider ability. For the rest of us that are not pro's you get more bang for the buck with a dale. My cannibal costs me 6400$, those quads are well into the 15K or higher range, not the same thing. I would dare to say that my stock dale with a quality rider will hang with a full blown 400ex/z400 that has 15K into it. But all that is just imagination anyways, I just think you got the perfect quad out there, no need to wait for Honda to make one, its available right now at the cannondale dealership, yea there arent too many shops but they are around.
happy riding all

Rincon, why do you get so defensive whenever somebody posts something about Honda. You claim to own an old XR250 and a Kodiak but yet you name yourself Rincon - you don't own a Honda quad. What do you care if a few people laugh at Honda. It's not like people are laughing at you (well, actually almost everybody is laughing at you but not in this thread)... Anyway, maybe it would be best to lighten up a little and quit squeezing the 400ex into every thread you can... Just some friendly advice from a fellow ATVer. BadElk, That's a killer quad. Trout, I agree that the Cannons are the most race ready quad out there BUT, for the extra savings on a 400EX you can 440 it and then it will have a big sack o nutz also and be a great handling MX'er.TOO!
