I've heard there is an aftermarket pull start for the 80 quad sport. Everyone I've called has never heard of it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. There is no way I'm spending $300 on that little starter and my kid wants to ride. Thanks Mike

Can you get the starter rebuilt? Try to find an automotive guy that specializes in starters. Also, I have heard of lt80s having pull starts but never actually seen one.

mkflow, a pull start is available, any Suzuki dealer should be able to get one for you,it goes on the belt drive cover, where the chrome metal cap is. I've heard it is between 75-90 bucks, also, have you checked salvage yards for a starter? or even ebay, lots of quad parts there.

where did your dad buy it. I've tried the salvage yards, no luck. All the dealerships act like I'm crazy. They have never heard of it. I'm about to rig something so I can stsrt from a cordless drill.
