quadracer 88?
#1
can someone run this # and tell me if it comes back as an suzuki quadracer 1988.
i also was looking on the engine for a serial # and couldnt find one. do they usually have one?
heres the frame serial # JSAAJ12A8J2102613
AND THE LAST QUESTION IS the quad vibrated like mad when i test drove it. my hands went numb from a little ride. it looks like a atv motor ,could the weight on the counterbalancer of fell off?
also read in another thread there stopping making trannys and one other thing for these quads is this true?

I don't know how to run the #'s but if it is a 250 quadracer and it vibrates alot you probably sheard the key on the counterbalancer. I wouldn't run it anymore till you get it fixed. to fix it take off the clutch cover after draining fluids, take off the clutch and clutch basket then remove the nut on the counterbalancer weight and pull it off. It that is the problem you should take off the mag cover and pull the shaft out to check for wear where the bearings and weight go. If the shaft is exisvly worn replace it, also check the bearings and if you just put a new balancer key in torque the nut down to specs with loctite. It greatly helps if you have a manual. Hope this helps.
I had this same problem on my 91' quadracer.

First of it is a 88, I know this because the 10th digit is a J and the J's are the 88 models.
85= F
86= G
87= H
88= J
89= K
90= L
91= M
92= N
as for the vibration, I had a similar problem and mine was the motor mounts where broke. And other time it was the main bearings where out.
What chuck said could be true too.
Other thing it could be is that the main bearing seats are worn out causing the main bearing to move.
I would go with raptorguy on this go find a different one and stay clear of this one unless your willing to put so serious money into this one right off the bat.
