squealing Vinson brakes
#1
Has anyone had problems with their Vinson's brakes? I have had my Vinson for three months and had it in the shop four times. My Vinson has spent more time in the shop than my house due to melting fender, squealing brakes, "Park will not hold", and other problems. Does anyone have any sugestions besides sell it?

squealing Vinson brakes
Now lets see!!!!!! I had squeaky brear brake, I put a caliper tool against the rotor and with the use of a big hammer straightened out the bent rotor. That fixed the squeak while moving. On mine the squeaking comes and goes. There is a fix for the battery hold-down. The early Vinsons have a shifting problem that is fixed via a $500 shift kit installed by the dealer. The melting plastic next to the exhaust pipe has been seen by some owners. The newest is the gas gauge being offset thru the plastic cover partially blocking the gauge. This seems to be a factory problem.I hear if you break the front black plastic it will cost $80 to replace it, so be careful or buy a metal bumper to protect it. This is about all I can remember for now. I have a early 2002 but I don't want them to tear the engine down so I just had them replace the $250 shifter (under warranty). The shift kit for now can wait.
