Default Zilla Electrical

Lights on the the Zilla are very dim at all RPM's so I pulled the Stator. Found the leads from the lighting coils taped together (sorta) with black tape (I just hate it when someone has butchered something before I get a chance to!), one lead actually was not connected. So, I thought as this point I would test the coils resistance, if they were the same I would make proper connections and put it back together. They did not test the same, not even close, one was 8 ohms the other 25 ohms.
At this point I decided to upgrade the coils, I checked out Mr Dunes setup adding a battery to the circuit. I called Ricky Stator, they told me I could buy a complete Stator wired for use with a battery but I couldn't buy just the coils setup the same way.
Anyone know an alternate way to run a small battery or capacitor on this type of electical circuit?

Thanks
Denny

I haven't checked into being able to run any sort of capacitor, but I think it would be possible to run a regulator rectifier to get you DC to charge a battery. As for the capacitor, I think it could be done in series with a resistor on the AC side since lighting doesn't care if it is AC or DC on a 12v scale.

JeremyKS,
The only thing I could suggest is, you find a used one for sale. They sell them on ebay from time to time.

I think I have a used voltage regulator I will sell. I will look tonight and see if I still have it.
