LT250R Power Valve Question Problem.
#1
OK when I rev the engine on the quad while watching through the sight over the vale it never even moves. On my 500 I can rev it and see the valve move. The cover on the oppisite side of the engine with the "0" and "250" markings the "250" is on pointing toward the bottom of the engine while the "0" is pointing towards the top of the engine. My question is could this plate be reversed and if it is which way do I turn the **** when I switch the plate so the valve engages properly? Any help at all is very appreciated.

And one other thing. The actuator arm has a little play before it engages with the actual valve to open and close it is this normal. I can move it freely with my hand but it just doesnt move at all when I rev it. This really makes me wonder if it not opening at all hinders the power at all.

I have the same issue with mine it seems. I can move the arm freely, but it just sets there when the engine is reved. I've got the valve closed, but I would like for this thing to work. But I'm not to worried about it to much because I'm usually full throttle anyway.

take youe exhaust valve cover, out loose the tension from the spring, put the spring back and rotate exhaust valve cover back and rotate counterclockwise 360,when you have the spring out you could rotate your exhaust valve, there is always a little play on the control rod,,if the spring is rotate clockwise you will always have tension,so your exhaust will not work properly.

Ok so take off the cover and adjustment **** and let the spring unwind then replace it and turn it 360 Degrees counter clockwise and put the cover back on but which way do the markings go does the "0" got up or does the "250" go up? Let me know if I got this right.

i have my 0 up,the only thing it does it keep the the cover on place so the spring don't loose tension, but i really don't know if the 250 goes up or down, yeap you got it, rty that.

I went to try it but when I got the cover off the adjusting **** wont come out I didnt really pull hard on it or anything so as not to break something so I turned it counter clockwise with it on and it had no tension at all so im guessing it was tightened the opposite sirection than it shouldve been. I turned it clockwise and it has tension on the valve but it still doesnt move. Ill try to take the **** out tomorrow but when I do the spring wont come flying out or fall into the lower end will it. Its dark know and raining really hard here so ill work on it again tomorrow the rain makes too much noise on a low metal roof it drives me nuts.
