I thought we were done with this the cRaptor is a POS buy the Z or an Ex or Cannondale or any thing ells just not a Raptor

 

Get the Z it's the best all around quad of the ones you listed

 

Vegas what an insightful reply! I owned a the great canondale I hated it I traded it in for my Raptor (POS Craptor) and I love it! It is the best quad I have ever owned with my mods it handles great it's fast as all he|| and the only thing that has needed to be repaired on it in over a year and a half is a new battery! Do I think the z400 is a good quad, Yup I even think the canibal is too (I got an early 2002 and it had quite a few bugs that have been fixed, as my buddy just bought a 2003 and it is much better). People have different tastes, likes and dislikes. To blanket the raptor with the POS comment just shows your ignorance! The first year 2001's had some problems as did Cannondale and we are learning now with bent axles and cracked frames so do the z400's. No quad is perfect you can only hope to find one that is perfect for you!

I own a 2002 Raptor and 2003 Z400, the only reason I keep the Raptor is so my friends can go riding with me. The only thing that this POS does better then the Z is drag woo hoo so f___ing what and you mentioned cannondale having first year problems but they fixed them, others have had first year problems and fixed them but not Yamaha they built a quad with 660cc that has huge low end torque and stuff it in a chassis that is too tall, too narrow and too short. What were they thinking? If Yamaha would fix the problems they would have a good quad not one that just looks good.

Just thought I'd put in my two cense.
Being a HAPPY 02 Raptor owner, and having ridden a Z400 a few times, in my opinion, the Z400 IS better in tight trails and MX. (I can accept the Z400 being lighter and quicker than my Raptor)
BUT, I'll take the Raptor for MY kind of riding. Flying high and far in the dunes, and forest roads is where the Raptor excels. (I've beaten every Z400 I've raced so far in these conditions)

And one more thing, IMO anyone who refers to ALL Raptors as POS's is narrow minded.

 

Vegas don't look now but, another cracked frame on a z400 (See WP), better hang onto that Raptor you may need it!

I think you Raptor guys are misunderstanding what I am saying, all I am
saying is a STOCK Raptors handle like **** and for having 260cc more than a
Z you would think they would roost a Z in a drag but they don't, ya they win
but not by much and ya you can put $1500 in to make it handle as good as a Z
but when the question is asked "Z400 vs. Raptor" you must assume we are
talking STOCK vs. STOCK. There is just no way you can compare your modified
Raptor to my modified Z. We all buy them stock and that's how their judged!
