Big bore soon?
In the December issue of Dirtwheels there are two mentions of a big bore 4x4 in the works. One is in "Over the bars" p.14 and the other is on p.143. The way both little bits make it sound like a 650-750 v-twin monster could be possible not a Kawi P650 with yellow plastic. Anybody hear or know anything or just want to make a guess?

The Dealer show was in September. The only new quad was the Z-250, and it was a prototype.
.. I am sure that Suzuki will come out with some big bore new models, but it may be a while, probably next year's dealer show. I'd like to see a V-twin based on their SV-650, in a Sport/Utility with a manual gearbox with reverse and a hi/lo range, with a locking front differential. An Automatic version would be good too, but nobody has a manual transmission in anything even as big as a 500 except for Suzuki's Vinson. Next year's Vinson should get the locking diff too. There is something very bullet proof about a manual transmission/auto clutch in a Sport/Utility.
.. And a full blown Z-700, V-twin, manual clutch 5 speed with reverse, weighing about the same as the Raptor at 400 lbs. And SUPERSIZE it, please. The Z-700 should come stock with a wide axle and A-arms like the Predator or DS.
.. Suzuki has taken the quad market by storm, with a whole new line-up of great quads. There are more coming, but we can only guess, or wish, what they will be till they get here.

But the DRZ 650 is old school, air cooled, not the kind of motor we want in a new cutting edge, high tech quad. The V-twins are there for the taking too, with a lot more potential. I don't know how much they weigh, that could be a problem. Let's hope they do the right thing and blow us away with their insight and innovation!
