Anyone have the Suzuki 160?? Thinking of trying to find a good used 160 for my kids/wife. Was wondering if anyone has one and do you like it? How good does it run ect...... I owned a 95 King Quad for 3 years and now have a 98 Quadrunner 500 and have had excellent luck with both my suzuki's thats why I'd like to find a 160. Thanks!

I recently bought a couple of 2000 model 160's for our farm, mainly for recreational use "for the kids". It is a pretty fun quad, but it is a little under powered.
It has an easy to use reverse and electric start, plus a automatic clutch. It is easy to use and overall, a pretty fun ride.
If you want to do any type of fast or long distance riding, you may find that it is too under-powered for you (I have never gotten mine to go faster than about 33-35 mph, and that is winding out 5th gear).
But...it is a good quad for what I bought them for - that being a fun little quad to tool around on. Plus, lack of speed means it is a little safer for the kids (don't forget the helmets!). I don't have any complaints with mine.
If you want something with a little more "juice" for about the same price, the Yamaha Blaster may be another alternative. I have personaly never ridden one, but I hear they may be a little quicker, but don't quote me on it!
As always, the best thing to do is to just go test drive them yourself. Good luck!

When I was younger I had a 1989 LT160. I had it for about 6 years and put many many hard miles on it. A friend of mine had another one with similar results. They will stand up to alot of abuse, and can still pull a fairly big trailer for their size. The only problems I ever had with mine was replacing brake pads, and once the front spindle broke after many years of abuse. Although they are not overly blessed with power they are still an excellent machine and compare to many larger 250s favorably.
As for a Yamaha Blaster, I also had one of those as well. They are a totally different machine. They are a far more sporty machine with more power and better suspension, but as a utility vehicle they are of no use whatsoever. They don't have a trailer hitch, and it they had one they would probably burn out the clutch quickly anyway. They are also no good in mud at all, whereas the 160 is actually pretty good for a 2 wheel drive quad. They also have nowhere near the reliability of a 160.
