LT250R Piston Question (Needle Bearing Washers)
I have been rebuilding my 87 LT250R Motor and I got to replacing the piston and noticed the two washer that are suppose to be on either side of the piston bearing where not there. Also with my new wiseco piston, everything was there to rebuild it (bearing, piston, clips, gaskets) but no washers. Do I need these washers with the aftermarket piston? Are these washers standard from motor to motor or will my local shop have to order them. Any info would be great.
Thanks

If I recall right the 85-86 models needed the thrush washers when putting a Wiseco Piston in. But the 88-92 used a pro-lite piston that didn't require it. I had a 91 that didn't have the washers in it and I never had any problems with it. The 87 model quad used the same diameter piston as the 88-92 but didn't use a pro-lite. I would think you would be fine without the washers, but I would contact Wiseco and ask them to be sure. Better safe than sorry.

LT250R Piston Question (Needle Bearing Washers)
Jason,
Do a search in the cannondale forum for GasGas quad update and check out the latest ones for all the info on the GasGas.
Just a brief summary. I got the quad on Nov. 11 at Dover Race Ready Cycles in Dover, Ohio. Price was under 8k OTD with 150 in accessories (LTR exhaust cover and jet kit). The currently have one more 300 in stock. The machine has more top end speed than the cannondale, but a little slower off the start do to it's extremely smooth power band.

Yep it has a powervalve. The engine is the same one out of the 300ec dirt bike. My dealer added the LT Racing powervalve cover and jet kit to increase and change the power deliverance. All I got to say is it is smooth and you can tell from the sound of the pipe when you get into the powerband. I can't wait until I get it on the track.
