-Jetting Questions-
#1
I have a Z. I have a Yoshimura Slip-on and a K&N Airfilter. My airbox lid and snorkel are removed. I just can't get the jetting where I am happy with it. Besides changing the main jet what else is there to adjust. I know you can adjust the needle. What is the best way to go about this? Can somebody explain to me how to do this in a way that I can understand? I need help!!

Are you using a stock needle or an aftermarket one the stock isnt really designed to be adjusted but can be done by adding washers on the aftermarket one there is a little clip on it with 5-6 grooves you move the clip to diffrent grooves to go from rich to lean

April 2002 issue of Dirt Wheels has one of the best articles on carburator jetting I have come across, in their Hot Horsepower Tips colomn. It is also available on line at their website www.dirtwheelsmag.com
With a modified air box and Yosh slip-on you may end up with a 150-155 main jet, depending on the ambient air density of your area, among other things. You may also need to adjust or change the jet needle and/or the pilot fuel jet depending on how your quad runs in the mid range and/or down low (respectively)

Thanks guyz. I called Yoshimura today and they got me fixed up. They are really helpful. Thanks for all the support and help that you have offered. I am now running a 150 main with the needle clip on the 4th groove up.
Thanks,
