If you have a blue motor on your 85 then at sometime before you got it may have the motor replaced. This would be a good thing. They made some improvements in 87 and then again in 88 with a powervalve. You should check this out because some of the seals and gaskets may be different if it is a 1987+. I know that the reeds are different on 87+ then on the early models. You also asked about the clutch basket which is different after 1986. Would hate for you to get all the replacement stuff for your motor and have it the wrong year. There is a number on the back of the motor kinda above the sprocket which will tell you the year. You will need to reference the number with your manual or post it and someone will tell you what year it is.

nope, its the olders style motor, no exterior reed cage, I think at some time or another it was painted. wish it was the newer style, I've heard that they are alot more buildable, but the frame would need mods.... thats not saying that if someone has one kicking around their shop that i wouldn't take it off their hands for a small fee.... ok... here's the update on the polishing, its looking great, it's going to take me a month, but wow won't it look good, anyway, bench grinders wire brush.... BAD IDEA! I had to polish the !#&% out of my clutch cover to get rid of the scratches anyway, the fellas around here will have never seen anything like this.... and with a couple of mods, I hope I can blow thier eyes and thier minds with this rig.... besides that, I am thinking about buying a 95 warrior... Any advice on this? It is my girlfriends cousin and he is th kinda guy that you can't find a speck of dust on his car at any time, He want's $1200 for the wheeler and I have not seen it yet... will in the next day or two

Polishing wheel's and compound,go with emery, red rouge and then white rouge. You can get them either at K-mart or Sear's,I used a drill and a bench grinder with polishing wheel's,for my swing arm I used my D.A with a car polishing pad and the compound, the more heat you can generate by friction the more scratches you will remove,I even polished finger groove's in my clutch lever turned out good. The deal with the Warrior sound's like a steal if he take's care of it like he does his car. Good-Luck on the polishing it my take some time but it's well worth it went your done and your friend's all drewl over it.

well, come to find out, the 400 ex that he replaced the warrior with has had the cops all over it for a day or two, seems that it may be stolen, I know the warrior is nort but I'm not sure where to go know, I know where he will be going if it happens to be stolen .... straight back to prison, he's on parole... anyway maybe ill get it for cheap before he goes, just my luck, of course this wouldn't be easy
