LT80 starting trick!
#1
When my son's LT80 sits for more than a month, it can be a bear to get started. The last time it sat for a long time I had to prime it down the plug hole to get it started. Yesterday he wanted to drive it after a 2 month lay-up. Same old story - choke on and crank on it. No go. Not wanting to prime it, I tried something crazy. I got up on the footpegs and rocked the machine wildly from side-to-side while cranking it over. Sure enough, the rocking must have splashed a little fuel up through a jet or fuel enrichener circuit. It took right off! Beats pulling the plug out or the boot off the back of the carb to prime it. Might work for other machines, too.

I suspect the fuel bowl to have been dry.Rocking it may have helped. You also could point the petcock foreward (prime position) this will allow the fuel bowl to fill

Thanks, LT80. You could very well be correct about the bowl being dry. Another question for you - can you buy lighter suspension springs for the LT80. I know that can get complete systems but all I want to do is get a spring rate suitable for an 80lb kid w/o spending a ton of money.

Sorry,no good news on lighter shock springs. 1.9" of travel only gets so good IMO ATVA (AMA) rules dictate stock,in a way we're lucky as it saves some $$
