Default Should I get a Z400??

I have a 400ex with works tripple rates, 21'' holeshots, 18'' shredders and nerfs. I rode a z400 today and i loved it. I am thinking about selling my EX for a Z. I have heard about the shock mount problems and am wondering, will the works tripple rates on my 400ex fit the Z400? And if they do fit, will having better suspension help keep the shock mounts from being pounded so hard and cracking? How strong are the stock Z swingarms, I ride alot of MX? Thanks. Also, how much do u guys think i could get on trade in for my EX? With stock shocks if the works fit the Z.

If I get a T-4 slip on, uni filter, outwear filter cover and I rejet, will I then have the feel and power of a stock Z400?

my friend has a stock z and he raced a 400ex with a cobra pipe (not the best pipe in the world i'm sure stock it ran better )nothing else. the z won once and the 400ex won once it was on dry pavement they both hit top speed. the power just feels different between the two ! same end result! just the 400ex stays in one peice .my wifes ex has a fmf titanium 4 with power bomb header k+n , W/B rev box and dyno jet kit it rips

I have Works shocks on both our EX and Z. I just went out to the garage and measured the old stock shocks I pulled off both bikes. The EX shock is at lease 1/2" shorter than the Z. When I installed them, I distinctly remember that the Works EX shocks were a fair bit longer that the stock ones. I would have measured the Works shocks on both bikes for you, but there isn't anybody around right now who can hold the bikes front end up to get rid of the sag. I can do that later if you would like. I would give Works a call and see what they think.

I have a Z400 with the baffle removed, 70MPH even, tested with three diffrent cars on pavement! I thought the 400EX's only went 60? 10MPH from any pipe seems extreme...

The Z400 with a Alien pipe/spark screen and air box lid off and larger jets ran 71 MPH on El Mirage dry lake bed with a G P S monitoring the top speed. From what I've heard/seen the front shock mounts break from the shocks bottoming out, better shocks and springs will fix this!!

use a gps that will give you the true speed of the z and the ex
