what exactly do they do and how much are they new im looking at a used unit

 

I have never owned one of these but I also have NEVER heard anything good about them. I have heard people say they thought it actually hurt performance. I believe they are supposed to increase spark strength, I didn't think they even man. them anymore.

 

yes it something with the iginion u just plug it in... my uncle has one on hiis trx250r and it is suppose to increase speed up like 8 mph if its cheap take it

 

It doesn't seem likely it would increase speed 8mph. It would have to significantly increase engine RPM. If that sounds good tom........go for it. most mods that offer a BIG increase in power are not cheap.

I had one on my LT250R when I bought it and I took it off during the rebuild because the word out there is that they can burn out your electrical system. I've never heard anything good about them!! I have the one I tore our of mine sitting on a table if you want it for $25.......I wouldn't buy it. If they did anything good they would still be around. You can't even find any info on installing these things. ANSWER has washed their hands of this, so called upgrade, years ago.

It looks like you have some really nice parts on your LT....don't add this gimick....

I've had many good mechanics tell me that if the electrical system is working well, not to mess with it!!!!!!
