I am thinking of buying a lt250 quadracer to race mx. Will they run with quads built today?

My friend has a quadracer that he races mx on it and does realy well. His bike has a laeger pro-trax frame zps shocks and all the good stuff and a 295 kit and he is realy fast. But if you are just racing a stock frame they tend to crack very easlily, there motors seem o run good 87-92 at least. Yeah the hsd frame mod would work well with some good shocks and other stuff to make the quad handle good.
