Eiger vs Wolverine in a drag...

I bet it will be very, very close.
The Eiger has the stronger and quicker reving engine but I'd guess that the Yamaha would win by a small amount. The Wolverine has a 100 pound weight advantage plus runs smaller tires. In a pure drag race I think that this would be enough to give the Wolverine the win.
Now, if you stuck some 23" tires on the Eiger I bet you'd see it pull ahead.
Interesting that what was (and still is) considered a "sport 4x4" is no longer very different from the current crop of "sport-utility" rides.

Been there, done that! I had a 2002 Eiger manual shift, and my brother a 2002 Wolverine. They are very close. My brother and I weigh about the same. The Eiger got a little jump off the line and they were even the rest of the way. Top speed seemed about the same. I started in 2nd gear because first is so low. If I had another gear I could have pulled away on top end because I was wound out. The Eiger motor is stronger, especially in the low and mid-range.
On the trails they are a good match as well. The Eiger doesn't have to shift as often but they move along at about the same pace. Wolverine may handle a little better but that is in part because of the bigger tires and a little extra weight. I would probably go with Eiger overall, due to its ability to do more work related duties without sacrificing the trail aspect. They are both good though.
