Bowman, do you still have the stock LT motor? I'd buy if off you for a decent price...
The KX or Cr or whatever transplant you want to do will cause you grief... These are non-counterbalanced motors and Vvvvvviiiiiibbbbrrrraaaaatte!

Plan on losing nuts/bolts/fillings, ETC.

I know that the new kx500 motor has a counterbalancer but I don't think the older ones did.

When did Kawi change the 500 motor? Unless they changed in the last few years, the last time I know of was 88 or 89. The new ones then didn't have a counter balancer. I think the counter balancer is important in a quad. Three wheelers don't seem to need them though. I road raced with a guy who put a CR 500 in a Rapter. Very bad vibrations and constant frame and pipe cracks.
