Vegas ?????????

Nellis - Off Las Vegas Boulevard just past the speedway. go about a mile north past the sppedway and you'll see a couple of dirt roads on th right. It's easy access for a truck but rough for a car is your towig a small triler with it. There are small dunes that are decent fun for a day trip. About 10-15 acres worth. Ride north of the dunes and you'll find some knarly hills that are downright challenging if not deadly. Real fun!
Armagosa Sand Dunes - about 1-1/2 to 2 hours north of Vegas on 95 north. Just keep driving until you see the dunes, there very visible from the highway. Take the paved road on the left which by the way the crow filies is about a mile from the dunes. Drive down until you see a dirt path on the right which is well travelled and may be marked with spraypaint on the tarred road. Drive in here as opposed to an alternative on the backside of the dunes. It's really dusty on that side but the road is graded better. If you want to try that access, bypass the tarred road off of 95 and travel futher on 95 to the dirt road directly off 95 on your left.
Dry lake bed south of Boulder City - go down 95 south towards Boulder and take right as if going to Lake Havasu. As soon as you start driving south you'll see the dry lake bed. Its a blast racing around on it if you like TT style racing but watch out for some manmade ruts here and there. I haven't figured out why they exist but someone dug 1 foot deep channels to drain off water at some piont in time and they can cruch you hard when your travelling 70 mph. West of the lake bed are trails behind the smaller mountains and tere are acces/fire roads back there too.
I live and ride in the East side of Henderson, along the mountain range where you see the big "B" on the mountain. Send me a private message if you want to ride together.

a great ride is to go from the dry lake bed in jean to the dry lake bed in boulder city. i found a trail that took me through the mountain. i did it on my 2wd ozark, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear stuff.
both lake beds are great for riding, trails, utility line roads and i agree that ruts come up out of nowhere in boulder city.
another thing i discovered is people with guns. i came around a trail 2 weeks ago when i ventured on a trail going into henderson. i came around the corner and there were 2 dudes with rifles and bud lights. i waved, turned around and got out fast.
has anybody ever gone over christmas tree pass south of searchlight before the laughlin turnoff. looks like a cool trail, i know it ends somewhere near laughlin.
i heard valley of fire has some trails too. let me know if anyone else has others.

LVOZARK , you can ride on the back side of Valley of fire in Logan dale , I have been trying to shrink my pics of our rides there and upload them to my profile , there is a lot of awesome riding there they have ,dunes , hill climbing , the normal desert trails and some trails that will take you to the lake . Have'nt went that far yet , we normally stay at the dunes . I will post directions once I get them I believe we are going this weekend cause the rain we are having flattens the dunes really nice.
