I recently purchased a 1986 lt250r, was just wondering where to look for after market stuff for it as in nerf bars and bumpers and things of that nature, it's a little rough but a good deal i think seeing that it is a really good runner, mostly needs cosmetic stuff

The cosmetic stuff is easy. Pick up the latest copy of your favorite quad magazine, and it is all ads . I would use ebay though. There are people parting out their quads all the time. You'll pay less then half the price and you can get some great stuff. Ouh yah, if you replace you plastic with Maier, watch out because there is an old dull finish and the new shinny finish stuff. If you try to mix the colors won't match. When you order double check that it is either the new shinny plastic, or that your getting a great deal on the old stuff. For I while I was seeing the dull finish stuff for half price.

The one company I have heard a bunch of bad stuff about is Recreation Unliimited. There is a whole bunch of bad posting on this forum about them. Propegs aren't being made anymore for the LT250R's. I don't think they sold many, because I've been tring to find some used and have never seen any. Try calling AC, they may have a idea on another a set that you can modify to fit the LT. The idea of spending $150 on some nerfs only to have to drill and bend them isn't what I wanted to do. You can pick up a nice set of alloy DG nerfs on Ebay for around $50.00. As far as the grab bar goes, I don't use the fender support bar. I have a DG alloy grab bar that looks real nice. I kinda think the fender support makes your fender crack easier, if you role her over.

P.S. Race cut plastic looks way trick......but on the trails you will eat mud all day long off the front tires. Just something to think about!!!

I have had good luck with Chapparal and CycleGear. I bought a DG nerf bar, grab bar and bumper kit from Goldenwest Cycle. They had a good price when I bought all three and shipped the grab and nerf bars quickly, but I am still waiting on the bumper. It has been almost 3 months. They said that DG waits until they have so many orders befor they manufacture more of them. Check ebay and search for lt250r. I have picked up a new radvalve, rad 25 on ebay.
