Is it normal to have some oil seapage from around the spark plug with a 2-cycle engine? If not, what sould this be caused from.

I was fouling plugs when it was time for rings. that could be it. My bike was missing cause all the oil was getting past the rings and the plug couldn't burn it all. So I tore it a part and it was just that the rings needed replaced.

Thanks for the reply...I was thinking of doing a top end on it. How difficult was it to replace your rings? I haven't done a top end before, but looking at the Clymer manual it doesn't look that difficult.

Its really simple to do. Your clymer will tell you how easy enough. Just be sure to get all the old base and head gaskets off. That is if you even pull your head off your cylinder. You can do it with just taking the whole head and cylinder off as one. If you dont have any gasket remover to spray on I found that just soap, water, and a brillo pad done a real good job and didn't scratch my cylinder. Good luck, I am sure you wont have any problem. Also make sure you us the right torque on your head.
