Ozark....Help????
#1
Hey. My name is Jim and I am new to this forum. I am 15 yrs old. I am 5'7" and 140 lbs. I am looking to buy a NEW Suzuki Ozark. I would like some information about it. First off.....How is the power? I would like something powerful enough to climb some hills and to cross some streams. Nothing deep or only crossable with a 4X4, just shallow streams. Second....How is the suspension? I would like to be able to go off some of the small jumps on our trails but I don't want the suspension bottoming out. They are at the most 2 and 1/2 to 3 feet high. Third... Are they quick for a 250 throughout the entire powerband? My buddy I ride with has a Yamaha Warrior. I know he could certainly beat me in a race but I do not ride to be the fastest guy around....I ride to have some fun. I would like to be able to keep up with him through the trails. They are not wide open....they are tight, twisty trails with hills and streams. Lastly....how are the Ozarks holding up? I think they have been out long enough to see if they are reliable. So any of you had any problems with them??? If so...what? Your help is appreciated. Thanks
Jim

Jim - The Ozark is a good choice for you
From all the reports, it's sporty for a utility bike, reliable and able to tackle most trails. Basically, it's the best in it's class. You may find better, faster bikes out there but they will be bigger and cost more. No, you'll never keep up with the Warrior on the open trails but since the Ozark has more ground clearance, you'll probaqbly wind up pulling him out every once in a while. While I currently do not have an Ozark, it will be the next ride that we get so I've kept up with most of the posts and reviews on it.

Jim,
You would love the Ozark. We do just the kind of riding that you are talking about. It has Great power for a 250cc, and has an overall balanced feel to it. In other words, the suspension works perfect with the performance of the motor. 2 to 3 ft. jumps are not only ok, but they are a lot of fun and the Ozark handles them just fine.
A bunch of us went riding several weeks back, on a wet day, so there was plenty of mud. We rode with 2 Warriors, a 400ex, my KFX400, a Lakota Sport and a Scrambler 500 4x4. Other than the Scrambler, the Ozark was the only other Quad that didn't get stuck at one time or another. The main addvantage was the additional ground clearance due to the shaft drive. Basically it made us (Chain driven Quads) look bad.
As far as reliability goes, to this point, FLAWLESS.
Good Luck.

Yep the Ozark will be fine, I have a KFX400, Wife has the Ozark. I have ridden the Ozark 2 times and had a blast, the suspension is good enough for most terrain and it has enough power to climb most anything. The gound clearance is great. I ate $--t going down a Steep!!, rocky, rutted, hill with some stair steps and bent the bars and scratched the racks/plastic etc. NOT the bikes fault, I should have rode it down, and NOT locked up the brakes just before I went off one of the steps.
