Default Gusseting The Z

Hey guys, I've been looking into picking up a Z400 in about a month from now, but I've been really turned off due to all the "broken frame" posts. I read on one post that the best way to solve this problem is to gusset where the frame connects to the front A-arms. Now I really don't feel like waiting an extra 4 months for the 2004s to come out and I'd be seriously pissed if the 2004s had not corrected this frame situation. So, I'm looking into possibly having my frame gusseted and I was curious about two things concerning this operation. 1: Where exactly should I have gusseted on the Z? and 2: How much ruffly would you guess that this upgrade would set me back if I had it done professionally by a local dealer? Thanks for any replies and if anyone could set up pics of where they have gussted their frame that would be a big help.

You can buy a gusset kit for the Z400 from Lonestar Racing for $300 and have the local shop put them in. Check it out at lsracing.com

Hope this helps.

The shock towers are not the only place they break. Ask theoriginalsurfer and WP, they both have cracked frame in several places.
