Default LT80 engine questions

I am starting to put my sons LT80 back together and had a couple of engine questions. I just got the crank back from the shop after having a new rod installed and was wondering if anyone has a manual or could let me know what the torque specs are on bolting the engine cases back together ( I am still waiting for my shop manual to arrive in the mail). I was also wondering what kind of sealer to use on the engine case halves, as it appears to have had nothing on it before. Any other tips is greatly appreciated as this is my first two stroke rebuild. Thanks much.

three-bond or yamha-bond. Its a semi drying liquid compound. Works extremely well.
These bolts assume are 6mm, I have never torqued these bolts before, only base and head bolts. Its probalbly around 10 Nm
If your concerned about the exact torque spec you can always get started putting it together and torque these down when u get the numbers, since this compound is semi drying

If I were you, I would save myself the hassle and send it off to LT80 (Jack). That way you could get it done right and the motor modded at the same time. It would be the best $400 you ever spent!

Yes I agree about LT80, seems he is the guru on this machine, but this is my boys first quad and he is only six, he has been riding his JR50 since he was four. I will let him ride this LT for the summer and plan on sending Jack some parts later in the fall after he has some experience. I want it to be a little faster than stock but not a screamer like LT80 builds just yet. It was a cheap basket case when I bought it, so it is just getting a new piston (51.50), new reed (Boyeson), light porting on the cylinder and a little decking to get the compression up, reed cage port, chain and sprocket kit, LT80's trans mod recommendations (I believe take 2 rollers out, please correct me if I am wrong), slight timing advancement, and new BRAKES, it had none. If there is anything else you guys recommend I really appreciate, especially any advise from you LT80 (Jack). LT80 if you happen to read this any advise on the timing advancement would help ( how to do it). Thanks again guys. Take care.
One more thing, anyone interested in 2002 YZ426F with about 10 hours on it? I really want a Z400, but cant afford both. Cya.

Rollers:; you are correct..Timing:: remove the fan and flywheel (need a puller) advance the timing 1/32 to 1/16 inch (clockwise).
On assembling the cases:: torque dont matter, but use loctite on the threads of the bolts.I use heat to get everything to slide together.the bearing goes on the ignition side of the crank, then into the case, clutch side: the bearing goes into the case, then heat the bearing and slide together
I have reeds.

Ottumwa eh?! You know Radar O'Reiley? <G>

Any problems/questions:; give a shout
