Default Lubin the ol chain !!

i am lubin the chain as i post.. just got a drain pan and filled with some 2 cycle oil... lettin it soak for 2 days then hangin it up to all drip out ??? this sound like a good way to oil ???[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

NO WAY!!! That oil is just going to attract a bunch of dirt and become GRINDING PASTE!! I presume you have an o-ring chain?? O-ring chains are PERMANENTLY LUBED INTERNALLY, and the o-rings are there simply to hold the grease in place. All the grit that oil will attract will just trash and ruin the o-rings. Also, there is the possibility that while soaking in oil, some of the oil may get by the o-rings and ruin the grease.

All a chain needs is an occasional spray with CHAIN WAX, to keep the o-rings supple!!!! This is especially important in the desert conditions you ride. The dry chain wax will NOT ATTRACT A BUNCH OF DIRT.
